350,695. Electric and frictional igniters. ZWILLING, L., (trading as Elektrotechnische Fabrik Ludwig Zwilling), 14, Ludwigstrasse, Walldorf, Germany. May 22, 1930, No. 15753. Convention date, May 23, 1929. [Class 75 (iii).] In an igniter in which a wick is ignited by an electrically-heated filament or by sparks produced by friction from a flint, the fuel container is fitted with a device adapted to produce an over-pressure therein simultaneously with the operation of the ignition means so as to force fuel vapour into the ignition space and thereby facilitate ignition. In the electric pocket igniter shown, the upper part 11 of the fuel container carrying the filament 9 is pressed downwards by a handle 19 against the action of a spring 13 into the lower fixed part 12 so as to force fuel vapour through a lateral aperture 17 in the wick tube 15 and close the circuit at the spring contact 6, the vapour being ignited and in turn igniting the wick. The device may consist of an air pump built on the container.
