Abstract
347,383. Pyrophoric igniters. ROCH, G. P., 8, Rue Rouget de Lisle, Courbevoie, Seine, France. Feb. 28, 1930, No. 6775. Convention date, March 4, 1929. [Class 75 (iii).] In a table, pocket or like igniter comprising a removable wick torch 6 and a spring - actuated friction - wheel 11, the spring 8 is set by the insertion of the torch in the reservoir 2 and is uninfluenced by the removal of the torch. The spring 8 is arranged around a tube 4 between a frame 5 and a member 7, integral with the tube 4 and connected by a lever 9 and a link 10 with the wheel 11. On inserting the torch 6 through the tube 4 into the reservoir, the head 6a of the torch depresses the tube for setting the spring, the parts being held in the set position by a spring-pressed pivoted latch 16. The latter is rocked for releasing the spring by pressing downwardly a member 14 by means of the torch, which is ignited by the sparks produced by the rapid rotation of the wheel 11 over the flint 13a. The torch is provided with a finger 6d for engaging a recess 14a in the member 14. The frame 5, top 3 and bottom 2c are secured by threaded rods 17 and nuts 17a in the casing 1 to allow for the removal of the reservoir 2 for filling purposes and obtaining access to the flint-adjusting means. The casing is provided with longitudinal and transverse grooves 1 for the attachment of advertising or other displayed matter.
