Abstract
511,009. Door locks. HFTTICH, F. Nov. 23, 1938, No. 34098. Convention date, Dec. 3, 1937. [Class 44] A lock to be applied to the inside of a furniture &c. door comprises a bolt d, formed from sheet metal, spring-pressed at g and slidable within a box-like casing a. The bolt is withdrawn by a rockable key h formed with a longitudinal rib, the rib being interrupted at l to receive a spring bar k carried by lugs m up-bent from the bolt, which lugs also form stops limiting the projection of the bolt. The cover b of the casing a is slotted at o to provide wards which co-act with notches p of the key h, a lug w of the cover b forming a guide for the bolt, slotted at x to receive it. Lugs q, formed in the cover b, centre the lock in the bore r in the door z, the end of the bore being covered by a keyhole plate s under which is a cover-plate u carrying a spring t against which the key h bears. Alternatively, a key-hole bush s', Fig. 4, may carry the bearing spring t'.
