Abstract

214,090. Parkes, S. R. May 1, 1923. Addition to 135,551. Locks, cases for; locking sliding latches; reversible locks.-A lock as described in the parent Specification is formed as a mortice lock. The latch bolt D is locked by a transverse sliding lock bolt a<5> mounted on the back-plate of the casing and co-operating with a loose block F carried between the bolt head and a plate d<5> secured to the bars d<4>. The lock can be reversed for right and left-hand doors and also for doors opening inwardly or outwardly, the block F then sliding to the opposite side of the casing. A double keyhole is provided. The case is pressed from sheet metal and is formed in two symmetrical halves secured together by a screw passing through one half into a tapped stud a<2> on the other half. The bolt comprises a head D and bars d' formed in one piece and having a plate d<2> attached for co-operating with the follower e. The bolt a<5> is operated by a key and is locked by levers a<7>.
