509,967. Fluid-actuated valves. JUNKERS FLUGZEUG - UND - MOTORENWERKE AKT.- GES. Oct. 5, 1938, No. 28901. Convention date, Oct. 9, 1937. [Class 135] A valve device, particularly for use on aircraft for maintaining a constant relative proportion between the amounts of fluid supplied to branch pipes 2, 3 by a supply conduit 1 comprises a cylindrical member 24 with a series of radial ports 26 adapted to connect the inlet 1 with two narrow axial passages 32, 33 leading to chambers 28, 29 in turn connected to the branch conduits. The end faces of the members 24 co-operate with conical seats 30, 31 on the end walls of the chambers 28, 29 to form throttling points so that as the member moves in response to variations in flow a throttling action is set up in one or other conduit to restore the balance. Bye-pass passages may be provided connecting the main inlet with the branch passages and fitted with non-return valves 36, 37 to permit an unregulated return flow. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91, describes a construction in which a slide valve in each branch conduit is actuated by a spring-loaded double-acting piston subject to the throat and full-bore pressure of a Venturi pipe inserted in each branch. In a modification of this form two slide valves are operated by a single piston subject to the throat pressures in two Venturi tubes. In another form spring- loaded spherical valves in each conduit are moved by rush of fluid into a more restricted part of the conduit. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
