Abstract

[Class 135] A pinch-cock device particularly adapted for controlling the supply of chemicals in relatively small quantities at intervals during the working of a plant comprises an open-sided box-like body h mounted below the supply container a and having a rib i formed on one end to form an abutment for the tube d made of rubber, leather or canvas impregnated with resinous compound. A pinch-plate t with a rib is mounted on the other side of the tube and is connected'by rods s, guided in lugs on the body, to a cross-head r secured to an operating rod q. The movement of the plate t is limited by nuts v adjustably mounted on the rods s engaging,the guide lugs on the casing. The box-like body is supported by an integral arm g secured by a split clamp f to a spigot c on the bottom of the container, a reduced part of this spigot being adapted to receive one end of the rubber tube. In the form shown the rod q which has a stop shoulder q<1> is actuated by a power piston p supplied with fluid pressure from a cyclic controller connected to the pipe o. The power piston may be replaced by an electromagnetic device. Specification 264,396, [Class 135], is referred to.
