Abstract

505,874. Controlling the delivery of yarn from bobbins. RIGG, D. July 16, 1938, No. 21173. [Class 120 (ii)] Means for controlling the delivery of yarn from cheeses, bobbins, or the like to maintain a uniform tension, comprises a brake drum e, mounted on the spindle a, and a brake band or equivalent, the two ends f<1>, f<2> of which are connected to opposite arms of a lever g2, at different distances from the pivot g<8>, the angular position of the lever being controlled by a member y<4>, connected thereto and bearing on the cheese, so as to move the lever about its pivot in accordance with the variation of the diameter of the cheese. The brake band incorporates a spring i, and is adjustably connected to the lever at k<1> and to vary' the effective length of the lever arms.
