Abstract

358,401. Controlling delivery of yarn in winding - machines. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER AKT.-GES., Horgen, near Zurich, Switzerland. Feb. 21, 1931, No. 5539. Convention date, June 4, 1930. Addition to 354,656. [Class 120 (ii).] In a band brake as claimed in the parent Specification the pivot on which the bent spring rocks is adjustable to premit of a primary adjustment of the brake effect. Fixed to the spindle of the delivery spool 4 is a brake drum 5 against which a brake band 6 is held by a bent spring 9 to the ends 7, 8 of which it is connected. The spring is looped at 10 to engage a pivot 11 and a doubled portion of the spring engages an abutment on a rod 12 which is connected to an elastic arm carrying a thread guide through which the thread passes. The pivot 11 is carried on one arm of a pivoted bell-crank lever 17, 19, the other arm of which has an arcuate head 21 provided with holes 20 for engagement with a fixed stud 24 to fix the lever in a desired position. A handle 22 is provided for operating this lever and a spring on the pivot of the lever is arranged to urge the lever in one direction to hold it in engagement with the stud 24.
