Abstract

505,528. Antomatic tuning correction. COLE, Ltd., E. K. June 18, 1938, No. 18139. Convention date, June 18, 1937. [Class 40 (v)] The hexode frequency changer 1 of a superheterodyne receiver functions also as an automatic frequency control valve by virtue of a connection over condenser 12 between the main anode 10 and the tuned circuit 4, 5, of the oscillator portion of the valve. The valve 1 thus acts as a reactive load on the circuit 4, 5, variable by varying the mutual conductance which is effected by applying bias voltage v from an error detector to the outer grid 13. The condenser 12 may be connected to the oscillator anode side of the reaction coil 7 as shown by the dotted line. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 497,798.
