Abstract

505,382. Feed rollers for openers, carding-machines, &c. GARNETT, Ltd., P. & G., LEATHER, C. W. I., and BREARLEY, L. Dec. 4, 1937, No. 33592. [Class 120 (i)] A machine for opening or carding fibres comprising a toothed cylinder A, Figs. 2 and 3, having teeth B which point in the direction of rotation is provided with a pair of feed rollers C, D which rotate in opposite directions and have their teeth pointing in the same direction so that the backs of the teeth in the feed rollers are presented to the points of the teeth in the cylinder A which runs faster than the feed rollers. The teeth of the feed rollers may intersect with one another or run clear of each other and the teeth of either the top or bottom feed roller intersect with the teeth of the cylinder according to the direction of rotation.
