723,536. Carding-engines. BLACKBURN, H., and KILNER, K. L. Sept. 2,1952 [Sept. 4, 1951], No. 20810/51. Class 120 (1). A carding-engine including two swifts a, d, an intermediate doffer b and an angle stripper c is provided with an adjustably positioned stripping roller e beneath the angle stripper c and in stripping contact with the doffer, so as to eliminate the need for " fettling " the doffer b. The teeth of the stripping roller e have a pointto-back action with the angle stripper teeth and a back-to-back contact with the doffer teeth into which they may enter to any desired depth.
