505,057. Television. COMPAGNIE POUR LA FABRICATION DES COMPTEURS ET MATERIEL D'USINES A GAZ. Feb. 7, 1938, No. 3811. Convention date, Feb. 8, 1937. [Class 40 (iii)] A periodic voltage is so applied to an automatic regulator of the amplifi. cation of image signals relatively to synchronizing signals that the regulator is maintained inoperative until near the end of each scanning line and thus greater amplification of most of the picture signals is obtained without prejudicing the separation of the synchronizing signals at the receiver. The periodic voltage is obtained from the synchronizing signal and is supplemented by a fixed voltage 9. The regulator feeds back periodically a biassing voltage to one or more valves of the amplifier of the image signals. This biassing voltage is derived from current passing through a resistance 8 from a rectifier 6 in proportion to the signals in a resistance 11 during the period when the periodic voltage 5 is sufficiently high. The biassing voltage is smoothed by a condenser 7 across the resistance 8. Specification 407,322 is referred to.
