Abstract

506,189. Valve circuits. RADIOAKT.- GES. D. S. LOEWE. Dec. 24, 1937, No. 35708. Convention date, Dec. 24, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] To eliminate distortion in a television transmitter or amplifier due to anode supply varia - tion when the transmission is switched to and from synchronizing level the output is distorted before it is fed to the transmitting valve. As shown, the output of the modulation amplifier 19 is distorted by the amplifier M before it is fed to the transmitting valve 30. Two valves are used in M so that the incoming and outgoing signals are in phase although a single valve only could be used. The compensation is effected by condensers 23, 23<1> and resistances or inductances 22, 22<1> which lift the low tones, the components of the circuit being adjusted until the output, as shown on an oscillograph, is of the required shape. Rectified reaction through 27, 28 maintains the basic value of the control potential at the same level. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also shows methods of compensation in which the anode supply is bridged by a buffer valve and in which a tetrode transmitting tube is used, the screen potential being maintained constant. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
