Abstract
505,017. Alloys. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP MOLYBDENUM CO. Nov. 1, 1937, No. 29864. Convention date, Nov. 12, 1936. Addition to 456,018. [Class 82 (i)] A welding electrode or rigid make-and-break switch contact is made of a copper alloy containing 0À1-10 per cent of cadmium, 0À1-5 per cent of chromium, and 0À1-5 per cent of one or more of the metals iron, cobalt, and nickel, with or without gold or silver or both, and with or without a total of 0À1-5 per cent of one or more of the elements beryllium, calcium, boron, aluminium, silicon, zinc, phosphorus, magnesium, molybdenum, tungsten, and tin. The alloys may be made by sintering a pressed mixture of the powdered constituents, or by alloying a pre-alloy of chromium and an iron group metal with the remaining constituents either by sintering or melting, or by coating powdered chromium with copper and sintering this with the remaining constituents. Specification 467,162 is referred to.
