Abstract

504,966. Valve generating circuits. TRAUTWEIN, F. Feb. 17, 1938, No. 5028. Convention date, Feb. 17, 1937. [Class 40 (v)] A relaxation oscillator is trigged when the condenser is charged to a predetermined voltage by an impulse supplied to the valve from the charging circuit. As shown in the figure, the condenser 12 is charged over resistance 13. When the voltage on the condenser equals that determined by tapping 15 current flows through transformer' 17 and a pulse is passed to valve 11 which allows current to flow. and the condenser to discharge. The valve may be a gas filled or a high vacuum valve and may be a diode or a triode. If a diode is used the secondary of transformer 17 is in the anode circuit of the valve. An amplifier may be placed in the circuit 15, 16. The rectifier 16 may be replaced by a high resistance or by a valve. The transformer 17 is wound to have a low resistance and the core is of finely divided iron and is premagnetized. The oscillator may be provided with filters to remove undesired harmonics and may be used as a synchronizing oscillator for an oscillator having an output of required wave form. The oscillator may be used in a musical instrument. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that transformer 17 may be replaced by a resistance-capacity coupling. A system of frequency division, Fig. 6 (Cancelled), is also described, the condenser 12 being charged over resistance 13 to a value determined by tapping 15 and discharged when the charge on condenser 26 has reached a predetermined value. The condenser 26 is charged by pulses received over rectifier 28 and the number of pulses required to charge 28, which number is the denominator for frequency division, is determined by the value of condenser 26. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
