Abstract

482,724. Valve generating circuits. COMPAGNIE POUR LA FABRICATION DES COMPTEURS ET MATERIEL D'USINES A GAZ. Oct. 3, 1936, Nos. 26894 and 26895. Convention dates, Oct. 4, 1935 and July 29, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] In a relaxation oscillator in which a condenser C is charged through a resistance R, and is discharged through a grid-controlled tube T<1>, the tube is rendered periodically conductive by associating a gas discharge tube N with its grid-cathode circuit. The grid of the tube T<1> is normally at a negative potential due to the cathode resistance P, but when the tube N is rendered conductive by a pulse applied through the coils B, the tube T<1> becomes conductive and discharges the condenser C. The tube N is connected to the junction of resistances P<1>, P<2> across the supply. By connecting a condenser K across the resistance P<2>, the tube N may be arranged to flash periodically and independently of the synchronizing pulses. The presence of the tube N reduces the exponential curvature of the charging-curve of the condenser C. In a modification, the tube N is replaced by a gridcontrolled gas discharge tube, and synchronizing-pulses are applied to its grid, Fig. 2 (not shown).
