Abstract

530,378. Thermionic valve circuits for generating synchronized oscillations. THORNTON, A. A. (Philco Radio & Television Corporation). June 5, 1939, No. 16438. [Class 40 (v)] Relates to gas-discharge tube oscillators especially intended for synchronizing television receivers. According to the invention, a resistance 8 wth a parallel condenser 9, Fig. 1, or an inductance 13 with a parallel condenser 14, Fig. 2, is inserted in the cathode circuit of the gas discharge tube 2 which periodically discharges the condenser 3 periodically recharged through the resistance 5, these inserted impedances in the cathode circuit being such as to develop a voltage which persists throughout a substantial portion of the interval between the synchronizing pulses supplied to the grid of the gas-discharge tube, whereby this gas-discharge tube is unaffected by undesired intermediate pulses.
