Abstract

504,044. High and low water alarms. HOPKINSONS, Ltd., and BROWN, R. I., Oct. 25, 1937 No. 29061. [Class 135] In a combined high and low water alarm for boilers as described for example in Specification 436,174, [Group XVIII], and comprising a spindle b which, through arms f, is given a part rotary movement by the rise and fall of a float a, located in a vessel c communicating with the boiler, to operate disc valves c, d controlling the alarms, the float is balanced by a counterweight h which is disposed between the arms f, and is fulcrummed at i in a fixed bracket j and also pivotally connected to a sleeve m rotatably associated with the spindle b. In one of the modifications, Fig. 4, the counterweight h<3> is located below the float and is supported by a rod h4 pivoted at its upper end to a lever h which is fulcrummed in a bracket and is connected by a link n to the float arms f.
