Abstract

503,778. Delivering material from hoppers; pneumatic conveyers. LAMB, H. T. Oct. 12, 1937, No. 27712. [Class 78 (i)] A fuel burner feed mechanism comprises a downwardly converging feed tube extending from a hopper to an air blast passage, the fuel being fed through the tube by a correspondingly converging rotatable helix. The Figure shows the application to a hopper arrangement as described in Specification 484,513, in which fuel is fed from the hopper 3 through a tube 8 to an air blast passage 6 by a helix 11 on a shaft 12. This shaft is driven from a power shaft 16 through an adjustable roller 15 engaging a friction disc 14.
