Material from hopper 19 is fed by screw 2 to delivery shoot 17, being deflected therein by plate 18 rigidly carried by screw shaft 3. The screw 2 is tapered at 10 and secured at 13 to casing 1 so that screw and casing turn together on rollers 12, the drive being supplied at 7.
