501,225. Milk &c. cartons. HARTMANN, C. W. Jan. 18, 1938, No. 1636. Convention date, Jan. 22, 1937. [Class 66] A carton for containing liquid or powdered substances comprises a seamless body part of tapering form the larger bottom end of which is closed by a disc 26 seating against a shoulder 20 and held in place by a ring 28 which is applied from the narrower end and when in place compresses the depending skirt portion 22 to be of a uniform crosssection. The ring may consist of layers of paper pasted together or of metal, for instance of wire wound around the skirt and having the ends twisted together. The smaller end of the carton may have an aperture closed by a metal cover. Specification 501,224, [Group V], is referred to.
