500,213. Electric furnaces. WISTRA OFENBAU GES., (formerly WIRBELSTRAHLBRENNER OFENBAU GES.). Aug. 4, 1937, No. 21509. Convention date, Aug. 4, 1936. [Class 39 (iii)] In an electrically heated furnace, the furnace cover consists of exchangeable fireproof bricks 4 removable from above and provided on the underside with channels open to the. furnace chamber for the resistance heaters 7. The channels may be widened at intervals along their length in order to increase the radiating area on to the furnace. In a modification, the heaters 7 may be carried in channels in additional bricks which themselves fit into the channels in bricks 4.
