[Class 39 (iii)] A heating resistance is embedded in insulating material in an open groove or channel in a flat metal bar S. The bar may have an E profile to provide two channels. The outer walls of the bar may be corrugated, toothed, or curved inwardly, or the profile may be varied at regular or irregular intervals. A ceramic insulator J with a cover plate L is arranged at one end of the bar.
