Abstract
431,453. Wire resistances. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. March 5, 1935, No. 6912. Convention date, March 6, 1934. [Class 37] In a heating-unit comprising a resistance 10 embedded in refractory insulating powder compacted by reducing a metal sheath 11 around it, a second sheath 14 made mainly of nickel, is secured around the first by a slight contraction to avoid corrosion of the sheath 11. Vitreous sealing material 16 is provided at each end of the heater to render it fluid tight. The terminal members are connected in brass blocks 18 as described in Specification 198,932, [Class 37]. Specification 144,767, [Class 37], also is referred to.
