[Class 64 (ii)] Heat insulation comprises evacuated elements of vitreous material in the form of flat rectangular plates, strips, or tubes. The plate 2 may have a silver lining 4, and a reinforcement in the form of a central rib 5. The elements may be mounted in putty or joined by rubber strips 6, and may be protected by wood or metal plates or wire gauze. Tubular elements 11 may be formed with flattened parts or with a concave groove 13 to enable them to be fitted together.
