Abstract

499,845. Closures for collapsable tubes. HASLER, D. April 22, 1937, No. 11552. Void. Convention date, April 22, 1936. [Class 125 (iii)] The outlet 5 of a collapsable tube 1 is closed by a member 3, slidable along inclined guides 4 on the top 2 of the tube, and the distance between the upper face of the top 2 and the guides 4 increases towards the outlet 5 so that as the member 3 is slid into the closing position, a sealing member 6 is pressed with increasing force against the top of the tube. Ribs at the end of the guides remote from the outlet 5 prevent the member 3 slipping off the guides and, after the member 3 is positioned on the guides, lugs 7 at the end near the outlet 5 are bent at right-angles to the axis of the guides to prevent the member 3 being pushed off the guides. The guides may as shown be formed as grooves engaging prisms at the closure member or the guides 4 may be formed as prisms. The guides 4 may be arranged parallel to the scaling face of the closure.
