Convention date, March 31, 1937. [Class 135] In a screw-operated throughway stop cock having a conical closure member k with a flange k<1> of flexible or elastic material which engages an annular seating i<1> in the closed position of the valve, the closure member itself is composed of elastic material, such as vulcanized fibre and the seating area of the casing adjacent the passage openings b is formed as a truncated cone of larger angle than that of the closure member k so that recesses n are formed adjacent the openings b and elastic material is not forced into the latter. The valve member k is secured to a non-rotatable flat-sided extension c<1> threaded to receive a non-rising threaded spindle e with a hand wheel g The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes a form, Fig. 1 (Cancelled), having a rigid valve member c with a flange h for retaining a flexible washer i. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
