[Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XXXV] The field windings of a motor are energized through a device controlled by rotation of the permanently magnetized rotor. In the form shown, the rotor is disposed within a pair of coils. An interrupter comprising contacts 38, 39 is in series with each coil and the fraction of each revolution during which each coil is energized depends on the eccentricity of a sleeve 50 surrounding the motor shaft, the degree of eccentricity being controlled by a governor carried by the rotor. Each interrupter can be swung about its support 43, 51 to facilitate inspection. Specification 409,481 is referred to.
