Abstract

<PICT:0496723/IV/1> <PICT:0496723/IV/2> Felt shoes &c. are carried on a rotatable circular frame 7 through a circular tunnel divided into two or more sections separated by gaps 4, 5, so providing at least two separate chambers 2, 3, one for steaming, the other for drying or other treatments. The shoes are loaded or unloaded at the gap 4 on to or from trays 11 mounted on a ring 7 of channel-section supported on rollers 8, 9 and rotated by a driving pulley 13 and belt 7a. The top flange of the ring 7 projects above an arcuate slot 10 in the bottom wall of the sections, which have fabric curtains 12 at their ends. A steam coil 6 is placed beneath the drying section 3 in which air is circulated by a fan 16, and steam is admitted to section 2.
