Abstract

496,655. Integrating - mechanism. ELECTROFLO METERS CO., Ltd., and WEY, R. J. June 2, 1937, No. 15304. [Class 106 (iv)] An integrating-mechanism comprises a counter (not shown in Fig. 1) driven through a variable amount at each revolution of a constant-speed shaft c, the amount being determined by the position of a cam a positioned by a meter, &c. A disc d secured to the constant-speed shaft c has projections e which engage a detent i pivoted to an arm f freely mounted about the shaft c and drive the arm f until a feeler h, also pivoted to the arm, strikes the cam a and trips the detent i, whereupon the arm f returns by gravity to its initial position against a stop g. During the driven (clockwise) rotation of the arm f, the counter is operated by pawl and ratchet means connected to the arm. In modifications, the latching connection between the members h, i is varied and an air brake controls the return motion of the arm f.
