[Class 37] [See also Group XVIII] In a prepayment electricity meter a freewheel or one-way clutch is provided in the drive between the meter rotor and the registering dials so that the dials may be turned by hand in a direction which over-runs the normal transmission to enable the accuracy of the cut-off for any particular unit of prepayment to be observed, the dials to be set to any desired reading, and the credit register to be set to zero. The meter rotor spindle a, drives the spindle f of the registering dials through a worm c, worm-wheel d, and a oneway pawl-and-ratchet drive h, e. The wheel d is rigid with the ratchet-wheel e, both being loose on the spindle f to which is secured a disc carrying the pawl h. The disc g has a knurled edge so that it may be turned by hand for the purposes described.
