Abstract
496,625. Two-part couplings. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 3, 1938, No. 6702. Convention date, March 3, 1937. [Class 38 (i)] A holder for a tubular lamp 9 comprises a disc 11 having a contact 15 recessed into one surface and connected to one of a pair of plug contacts 26 for connection to a supply socket, the other contact 26 being unconnected and forming an additional support. The contact 15 has spring teeth 16 that wedge into recesses 17 and carries a divided central projection 18 to enter a recess 19 in the lamp cap 20 and a lateral extension 23 to which the plug 26 is riveted. The plugs 26 are held in slots 21a, 22 by a cover-plate 33 that may carry a shield 34 to surround the end of the lamp. The plugs 26 at the two ends of the lamp may enter the slots of a continuous-strip supplying fitting, or two independent socket fittings suitably arranged.
