[Class 78 (i)] Apparatus for delivering pulverized material from hoppers comprises a moving platform on to which the material is fed, and a regulating scraper member disposed above the platform to control the depth of the layer of material passing under it to the delivery point, together with a relief aperture for receiving surplus material retained behind the regulating member. In the form shown the appliance is bolted by the flange A<2> to the bottom of a hopper and is fitted with a vertical shaft B carrying a pair of radial stirrers C', a vaned wheel D<1> forming delivery pockets which rotates in a separate compartment formed by the member A<5>, A<6>, and the platform H which is driven by the bevel gear H<2>. Material agitated by the blades C<1> falls by gravity through a sector-shaped opening in the partition A<6> between the vanes of the wheel D<1> and is carried round to a second staggered sectorshaped opening F in the partition A<5>, through which it falls on to the table H. A handadjusted inclined pivoted plate G<1> regulates the thickness of the layer carried round by the table to the plough L which feeds it to the vertical delivery pipe J. Surplus material builds up behind the plate G<1> and blocks the delivery from the cells of the wheel D' to a greater or lesser extent, the cells thus being only partly discharged on passing over the opening F. The pipe J may be under vacuum which may be utilized to clear the space under the platform from escaped material by allowing air to be drawn in at A<9>. The platform H carries pushers H<5> working in a groove in the casing to carry escaping material round to the pipe J. Recesses K<1> also serve to house material and prevent it escaping.
