[Class 106 (iii)] In a speedometer having a rotating spindle b carrying a member e pivoted so as to be tiltable under the action of centrifugal force, a balance weight a is rigidly fixed on the spindle, and a spiral control spring f is provided, one end being rigidly fixed to a non-pivoted past of the rotating assembly and the other end abutting against a stop g on the member e. This stop may be adjustable. A second control spring may be provided arranged to exercise a counterbalancing force to the first spring on the pivot of member e. The latter is connected by a link l to a sleeve m operating a lever o which controls the pointer s through gears p and q.
