Abstract

416,766. Barometric gauges. CEBRELLI, M., Aeroporto di Elmas, near Cagliari, Italy. Dec. 18, 1933, No. 35638. [Class 106 (ii).] A control indicator for aircraft comprises a central dial with indexes 4, 3 of the banking and turning indicators and indicators 1, 2 of the horizontal and climbing speeds and two adjustable indicators one each side of the central dial which allow the values of the horizontal and climbing speeds, which it is desired to maintain, to be predetermined. The adjustable indicators are operated by Pitot tubes and each comprises anemometric capsules 8 secured to a supporting and regulating spring and which actuate a lever 12 pivoted on a bracket 10 mounted on a dial 9 rotatable by a knob 5 for setting against a fixed index 6. Movement of the lever 12 rotates through a chain 13 and a drum 14 a pointer and a disc 15 provided with two concentric grooves joined by a groove 23. A tooth on one end of a lever 17 engages in the groove and the other end of the lever 17 rests on and causes movement of a lever 19 which at one end carries one or other of the indicators 1, 2. Contact between the levers is maintained by helical springs. In operation, rotation of the dial brings the groove 23 in correspondence with the tooth 16 at the speed which it is desired to maintain and variation of speed in the neighbourhood of this speed causes movement of the corresponding indicator.
