Abstract

496,140. Wireless receiving systems ; aerials. BEATTY, W. A. May 26,1937, No. 14607. [Class 40 (v)] Comprises an arrangement for using the supply mains as a signal pick-up for a superheterodyne receiver and for preventing interference therefrom at the intermediate and/or other frequencies. As shown, rejector circuits L1, C1, L2, C2 tuned to the I.F. are interposed between the mains and the power output terminals 2, 3. A signal deriving terminal 1 may be connected, through condenser C5, to either of the terminals 2, 3, by means of the movable strap 13 and terminals 10, 11, 12. The terminals 1, 2 are also connected through further coils L3, L4, to alternative power terminals 5, 6 which are bridged by condensers C3, C4 the common point of which is connected to terminal 4 for an alternative signal pick-up. A symmetric signal pick-up is provided by coils L5, L6 coupled to coils L3, L4 and connected in series between terminals 7, 8. The apparatus is disposed in one or more containers separate from the receiver.
