244,227. Combe, J. W. Oct. 24, 1924, No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Atmospherics and undesired signals, eliminating or limiting. - A separate tuning unit 4, adapted to be bridged across the aerial and earth terminals 2, 3 of a wireless receiving set, comprises a plug-in coil 6 and a variable condenser 7 which can be inserted either in parallel or series with the coil 6 by means of plug-and-socket connections 8, 9, and 10, 11, 12 respectively. If the receiver is tuned say to receive London, this station can be cut out, in favour of say Bournemouth, by connecting the tuner unit 4 as shown, and suitably adjusting the values of the coil 6 and condenser 7. Either station can then be heard at will according as the tuner 4 is connected to or disconnected from the aerial. The tuner unit may also be employed to eliminate interference from Morse or other stations working on a neighbouring wave-length.
