[Class 135] [Also in Group XXXVII] An electric warning device for indicating the leakage or consumption of gas in a pipe line comprises a valve member in the form of a thimble 8 slidable over a tubular piston 4 fixed in a valve casing 1, and a circuit closer or switch 9, 10 adapted to close a circuit containing a lamp or like enunciator when operated by the thimble under the difference in gas pressure between its opposite sides. The valve casing has an inlet 2 connected to a gas supply pipe and an outlet 3 connected to a pipe section with gas consuming devices such as oxygas blow pipes. The fixed piston 4 has a pilot port 6 in its upper end and one or more lateral ports 7. The moving contact 9 of the circuit closure is supported on the thimble by an intervening spring whilst the fixed contact 10 and its terminal 12 are supported by an insulator 11. A further terminal is mounted on the valve casing.
