[Class 40 (v)] A resistor, condenser or other circuit element variable by rotation of a spindle and having a push switch mounted on the side of the element remote from the operating knob is provided with concentric operating shafts e, d actuating respectively the switch b by longitudinal movement and the circuit variable a by rotatory movement. The shaft e when rotated takes the shaft d with it and can then be longitudinally displaced, or, both shafts may be actuated independently of one another, the latter adjustment permitting two operating knobs. The solid movement of the two shafts can be effected by making the shaft e and washer f with a non- circular engagement, or by a pin-and-slot connection between the two shafts. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 469,364, [Group XXXVII].
