Abstract
243,218. Burndept, Ltd., Phillips, C. F., and Woodell, S. F. March 23, 1925. Friction gearing. - An adjusting device for transmitting motion at a reduced speed to the rotary part, such as a condenser, rheostat or inductance coil, of a wireless set comprises a knob 3 on the shaft of which is a friction rim 5 engaging friction planet pinions 7 which engage a fixed rim 4a and are mounted on a carrier 7b fixed to the driven shaft 1. The planet carrier consists of spaced radial arms 7a between which the planet pinions are mounted; the latter consist of pairs of wished spring washers mounted on screws 10<a> passing through slots in an inverted metal dish 10 provided with a scale.
