Abstract

423,437. Toothed gearing. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and ROSE, W. R., c/o General Electric Co., Stoke, Coventry. July 31, 1933, No. 21481. [Class 80 (i)] [See also Group XXXVI] The teeth 1 of a crown-wheel are supported by a flexible web 5 which presses them into engagement with a toothed wheel 14 to eliminate backlash. In the form shown, the flexible web 5 carries a conical bearing 8 by which it is supported on an adjustable conical projection 9. A flange 6 on the crown wheel engages an idler 21 on the shaft 13 of the wheel 14 and, if desired, other idlers. The shaft 13, which carries the operating knob 16 may be connected to radio condenser plates, while the crown wheel carries the indicator dial ; or the crown wheel may be connected to the condenser plates.
