Abstract

494,713. Wrapping machines. ROSE, A. G., and ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. April 23, 1937, No. 26857/38. Divided out of 494,671. [Class 94 (i)] In a machine for wrapping irregularly shaped loaves or sliced loaves, the loaf is moved upwardly into a horizontally supported sheet of wrapping material, e.g. waxed paper, so that the wrapper is folded down at the sides and ends. The loaf is supported and the downwardly protruding side portions folded up on to the base of the loaf by means, for instance, such as are shown in Specification 389,152. Tabs 44, 45 are formed, and during the passage of the loaf between side walls 47, 48 of a feed trough, folding members 39, 41, co-operating with slots in the base, turn the tabs upwards on to the base of the package. A heated plate 42 and a cooling plate 43 ensure adhesion of the folds.
