[Class 94 (i)] Relates to a machine for wrapping-up articles, particularly loaves of bread, as in the machine described in Specification 411,730, and consists in providing oscillating folders for shaping a wrapper about the ends of a loaf, the folders also being provided with means for smoothing the end flaps over the upper side of the loaf. The loaf 1, Figs. 1 and 3, is placed with a wrapper A over an opening in the table of the machine, the opening being bordered by lateral guides (not shown), and by end guides 2 which turn up the wrapper against the ends of the loaf, as shown in Fig. 3. The oscillating folders each consist of a lever 3, secured to a rocking shaft 6, which carries at its outer end a pair of blades 4 adapted to straddle the loaf. The blades are pivoted on the end of the lever and are forced outwards by a spring 8, Fig. 2, into contact with stops 9. An arm 10 secured to the lever 3 between the blades 4, carries at its outer end a roller 5. When the ends A of the paper have been turned up, as shown in Fig. 3, the blades 4 are swung from the position 4<a> downwards over the loaf. During the movement, the blades are forced against the sides of the loaf by the lateral guides (not shown) and fold the paper against the sides of the loaf, as shown in Fig. 4. At the same time, the rollers 5 smooth the paper over the top of the loaf, and force the loaf downwards to the position 1<a>, Fig. 1. During the downward movement, the side flaps C are turned up along the sides of the loaf by the lateral guides of the table opening. The wrapping and sealing of the paper is completed by suitable means.
