Abstract

426,781. Wrapping-machines. VERPACKUNGS-AUTOMATEN GES., 24, Hildebrandtstrasse, D³sseldorf, Germany. Dec. 3, 1934, No. 34671. Convention date, Oct. 9. [Class 94 (i)] The projecting portion of a wrapper encircling a cylindrical article is folded down on the circular end by means of a folding member comprising two pairs of pivoted blades 5, 6 and 7, 8. The member initially occupies the position shown in Fig. 3 and is moved towards the package so that the vertical blades 5, 6 embrace the projecting portion a of the wrapper while the horizontal blades 7, 8 fold down the inner flap as shown in Fig. 4. The blades 7, 8 then turn into the vertical position against the blades 5, 6 as in Fig. 5 to form side flaps which are folded down by rotation of both pairs of blades into the horizontal position as shown in Fig. 6. The upper flap b is finally folded down by a folder 9 of known type.
