Abstract
493,304. Television transmitters. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., McCONNELL, E. D., and BRUCE, H. G. April 6, 1937, No. 9699. [Class 40 (iii)] A television signal 12 to be gapped for insertion of synchronizing signals is applied over condenser 2 to a valve 3, which is rendered inoperative periodically by pulses applied to the cathode resistance 4 ; the output 13 of valve 3 is applied to a limiter, e.g. a rectifier 10, and the direct current components are added by valve 6 fed with the picture signals over rectifier 5 and resistance capacity combination 7, 8, producing the gapped signal 15 to which synchronizing signals are added. The synchronizing signals are of lesser duration than the gaps. The direct current components may be added in other ways, e.g. as described in Specification 493,279.
