Abstract

443,032. Television. LANCE, T. M. C., PUGH, D. W., and BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., 58, Victoria Street, Westminster. Aug. 24, 1934, No. 24424. [Class 40 (iii)] Synchronizing signals of predetermined periodicity are flattened and made narrower by a valve 4 operating as a grid-current rectifier, and are regulated in duration by a valve 5 biassed beyond the bottom bend of its characteristic. The signals are impressed on the grid of the valve 5 in a positive sense and are regulated in width by adjusting the grid bias. Alternatively the amplitude of the signal applied to the first valve and hence to the second is adjusted by a potentiometer 8. The impulses are amplified in a valve 2 and pre-shaped in a weakly biassed valve 3 before passing to the valve 4.
