Abstract
455,858. Television. BLUMLEIN, A. D., 32, Audley Road, Ealing, London. April 24, 1935, No. 12370. [Class 40 (iii)] Spaced electric impulses of different kinds are transmitted from either of two separate sources 6, 7 to a common output circuit 16 by a selective switch 9, 12, which is automatically prevented from changing over except during the spacing periods between the impulses from one 7 of the sources. Line-synchronizing impulses from a multivibrator 6, are applied to the fourth grid of a heptode 9, and longer impulses at twice the line frequency are applied from a multivibrator 7 to a heptode 12. Longer switching impulses at the frame frequency from a multivibrator 8 are applied to the first grids of the heptodes to prevent the normally operative heptode 9 feeding the line impulses, while the heptode 12 feeds a train of broader framing impulses, as described in Specification 448,097. The multivibrator 8 is controlled through a heptode 19, to the first grid of which impulses at the framing frequency are supplied from a frequency divider 5. The broader impulses at twice the line frequency are also supplied to the fourth grid of this valve. This ensures the framing-frequency impulses are not applied to trigger the multivibrator 8 except in an interval of the impulses from 7, and prevents mutilation of the framing signal.
