Abstract
536,963. Multiple transmission. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. Jan. 31, 1940, No. 1921. Convection date, Feb. 3, 1939. [Class 40 (iv)] In a distributer system, signalling, e.g. for calling or selecting, is effected by suppressing impulses at the distributer frequency which are normally present either from the nature of the system, as when cathode beam distributers are used, or because artificially provided with the aid of a D.C. source when the distributers are mechanical. As shown signals are sent by a relay 12 which puts a paralysing bias on the grid of the channel concerned in the cathode beam distributer and are received by a relay 33 which is normally energized by the receiving pulses and falls back when these are suppressed.
