Abstract
472,401. Valve circuits. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., JONES, V. A., and WILLANS, P. W. March 20, 1936, No. 8358. [Class 40 (v)] To prevent the trans mission of undesirec signals during the flyback periods of ar electronic scanner, a valve 8 is rendered in. operative during those periods, and the generation of a sudden pulse by the cessation of the anode current is prevented. A second valve 9 has its anode so connected to the anode of the valve 8 as to draw anode current through the same load impedance 12, and negative bias is applied to the screening-grid except when the valve 8 is rendered inoperative by a negative pulse applied to its screening-grid. The current passed by the valve 9, when operative, is made dependent on the image signal for black by obtaining the grid bias from a condenser 10, which is charged by the signals through a diode 11. According to a modification, the switching pulses are obtained from a potentiometer including a valve which is blocked during the flyback, and positive impulses are applied to the grid of the second valve.
