492,792. Shaping plywood by pressure. ENDE, E. F. VON. Oct. 25, 1937, No. 29136. [Classes 145 (i) and 145 (ii)] In corrugated plywood sheets or blocks the height of the deformation waves is so small in relation to the thickness of the block that plane faced slabs may be cut out without cutting through the outermost surfaces of the outermost laminations as shown in the Figure. The sheets of wood coated with glue are superimposed and shaped in a press, preferably heated, having die plates of waved form. The corrugations are preferably at an angle of 45‹ to the directions of the grain in the laminations. Such a block may be cut into thin sheets.which are then stuck together afresh.
